The Thai island of Koh Phangan, located in southern Thailand, has been voted the third best island in Asia, according to the readers' choice criteria of the travel magazine Conde Nast Traveler .
Provincial Governor Wichawut Jinto said Wednesday that Koh Phangan Island has been hailed as one of the best islands in the world.
It has been ranked among the "Top Five Tourist Islands in Asia."
Topping the list are Cebu and the Visayan Islands in the Philippines.
Mr. Wichawut said the magazine featured Rin Nok Beach on Koh Phangan Island, where more than 30,000 tourists, mostly foreigners, flock on full moon nights for the Full Moon Party .
However, the Covid-19 pandemic brought everything to a halt.
The governor said Koh Phangan had more to offer than just full moon parties.
He added that the island boasted a mix of nightlife and beautiful natural scenery.
The beach is a perfect cove, flanked by mountains.
Tourists can fly to Koh Samui Island and take a ferry to the island, he said.
He also indicated that Koh Phangan Island has other beautiful beaches.
Like the beaches of Thong Nai Pan, Khuad and Yao.
Besides the beaches, Than Sadet Waterfall is also a top attraction.
The governor assured that medical facilities on Koh Phangan are adequately equipped with healthcare services, amid fears of a new Covid-19 outbreak in Thailand.

This is rubbish. The beaches of Ko Phangan are, apart from the private beaches which are cleaned, littered with rubbish, plastic and pieces of glass (Red Bull and others).
But the pollution does not stop there and reaches the heart of the island.
As for water... It's as if they don't know what a treatment plant is.
