Six earthquakes rock Thailand and its neighbors in a few hours

On Monday, October 13, six earthquakes shook Thailand's neighbors: Burma, Laos, Vietnam and the Chinese province of Yunnan.

The Earthquake Monitoring Division reported a series of tremors in countries neighboring Thailand, which occurred early in the morning of October 13.

According to this division of the Thai Meteorological Department, seismic activity continued in neighboring countries throughout the morning, with six earthquakes already recorded by 8 a.m.

Six earthquakes recorded between midnight and 8 a.m.

The earthquakes recorded between midnight and 8 a.m. were as follows:

• 7:25 AM: Magnitude 2.5, depth 10 km, epicenter in Burma, about 144 km northwest of Fang District, Chiang Mai.
• 5:40 AM: Magnitude 3.3, depth 10 km, epicenter in Yunnan Province, China, about 349 km northeast of Mae Sai District, Chiang Rai.
• 5:07 AM: Magnitude 3.7, depth 10 km, epicenter in Laos, about 99 km northeast of Chaloem Phra Kiat district, Nan.
• 3:28 AM: Magnitude 4.3, depth 10 km, epicenter in Vietnam, about 364 km southeast of Ubon Ratchathani.
• 1:58 AM: Magnitude 4.8, depth 10 km, epicenter in Vietnam, about 300 km southeast of Ubon Ratchathani.
• 1:13 AM: Magnitude 4.3, depth 10 km, epicenter in Vietnam, about 314 km southeast of Ubon Ratchathani.
