Presentation of Ancient City Park

Ancient City (Muang Boran) is located 30 km south of Bangkok, a 1-hour taxi ride, in the province of Samut Prakan.

The project was initiated on an idea by the Thai businessman Lek Viriyaphant, who is also the initiator of the construction of the Sanctuary of Truth in Pattaya.

This park allows you to visit the kingdom from north to south in one day, it presents reproductions of the most beautiful ancient monuments of the country, classified by region, on a 128-hectare site.

This ancient city is a gateway to the heritage of Thai culture, it creates an atmosphere that allows visitors to perceive and appreciate the continuity of history, cultures, religions, arts and Thai customs from its origins to the present day.

All regions are represented, as well as the typical way of life of its inhabitants.

In addition to its reproductions of hundreds of existing monuments, such as temples, palaces with their murals and sculptures, you will see villages with traditional houses, markets, museum pavilions as well as explanations on construction techniques and tools of daily life.

Shopping and dining

You can make a few purchases in the souvenir shops at the Old Craftsmen's Market at the entrance to the park and at the floating market.

You will find food stalls and restaurants in various places.

Getting around the park

It's a huge space, with a lot to see, you'll have a hard time visiting everything on foot in one day!

The park can be visited by private car or bicycle (you can rent one at the park entrance).

Entrance fee for foreigners

Foreign tourists living in Thailand must present their work permit or Thai driver's license to staff to get the same price as Thais.

From 09:00 to 16:00:
700 bahts for an adult
350 bahts for a child

From 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm :
350 bahts for an adult
175 bahts for a child

Opening hours and days

Every day of the week, from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm

How to get there

By car or taxi :
Take the Expressway to the Samrong-Samut Prakan exit. Turn at the Samut Prakan Intersection. Turn left along the old Sukhumvit road (towards Bangpoo) until you reach km 33.

The ancient city is on the left.

By bus :
Take the air-conditioned bus No. 511 (Pinklao-Paknam) to the end of the line. From there, take the mini-bus No. 36. It passes in front of the entrance to the ancient city.
