Part of a ceiling at Chiang Mai airport in northern Thailand collapsed, injuring two children on Saturday, August 3.
The incident occurred above the baggage claim area at 7:55 a.m.
Airport medical personnel quickly provided first aid to the injured children.
The first child, from the Netherlands, suffered a minor injury to the back of his hand, while the second, from China, suffered a head injury.
The Dutch boy and his family confirmed they would continue their journey to Don Mueang Airport in Bangkok , with local authorities overseeing their passage.
The Chinese passenger was taken to a private hospital in Chiang Mai to receive stitches to close a five-centimeter gash.
He was then able to return to the airport and take a flight to Hat Yai, in the southern province of Songkhla.
Airport officials provided significant support to both families, including new clothes, tickets, lunch, and access to a VIP lounge.
They also offered initial compensation and will work with insurance companies for further assistance.

Wing Commander Ronnakorn Chalermsanyakorn, director general of Chiang Mai International Airport, apologized for the incident and said he would accept any responsibility or criticism that might arise.
“We deeply regret this incident and are taking all necessary measures to ensure that it does not happen again.
"The feedback and suggestions generated by this incident will be used to improve our facilities and ensure the safety of our passengers," added Mr. Ronnakorn.
The ceiling collapse was attributed to panels weakened by moisture from air conditioning ducts, aggravated by recent continuous rains.
The airport has begun replacing insulation and removing damaged panels as part of an accelerated maintenance plan aimed at preventing further problems.
