Two Indian tourists drowned and a third was rescued after being swept out to sea by tides on Tuesday, August 1, at Karon Beach in Phuket .
On Tuesday evening, the three men went swimming near the Naga monument, according to Phuket police.
Red flags warned visitors not to swim because the sea was too rough and there were strong currents.
The three swimmers did not heed the warnings and were swept away.
Rescuers were able to save one of them.
The other two were also pulled from the water and taken to hospitals in Patong and Chalong, where they were pronounced dead.
Phuket police said they were informed of the double drowning around 8 p.m.
She said the Indian embassy had been notified and the families would be informed.
On July 28, a Senegalese visitor drowned while swimming at Freedom Beach in the resort town of Karon.
His body was discovered Sunday morning.
On July 30, a Thai tourist from Phitsanulok province died and two others were rescued on Surin Beach.
Some travelers only have a few days of vacation and are desperate to go swimming despite the red flags displayed on the beaches.
This is a very bad idea that, in addition to their own lives, also puts those of the rescuers in danger, because they then have to intervene.

I will never understand the reasons that push certain men (and women) to defy the advice or prohibitions of specialists and representatives of political, social and medical authorities!
Out of bravado or a lack of lucidity and evidence in the face of a dangerous situation? Simply to do the opposite of what is advised or prohibited? In opposition to any authority, to prove that they are right?
I don't know, but in any case, it was not because of an excess of mature reasoning and intelligence that these unfortunate tourists caused their premature death, well before their time.
Errare humanum est……….perseverare diabolicum!
This is the lot of seaside or lakeside during the tourist season.
More than 360 drownings in France since June, 30% of which were fatal.
I almost killed my nephew on that beach in Karon...
I would have probably drowned too if a lifeguard hadn't intervened to save me and free my arms...
