The Thai Meteorological Department has announced icy weather in the north and northeast of Thailand and heavy rain in the south.
Over the next 24 hours, the north and northeast will be cool to cold, while the central region, including Bangkok and surrounding provinces, as well as the east and south, will be cool in the morning.
Residents in these areas are advised to take care of their health due to the cold weather and be vigilant about the risk of fires related to dry weather and strong winds.
These conditions are due to a moderate high-pressure system or a cold air mass from China that extends over northern Thailand.
In the south, scattered thunderstorms will persist due to the northeast monsoon blowing over the Gulf of Thailand, the south, and the Andaman Sea.
The waves in the gulf will be of moderate strength, with heights of around 2 meters in the lower part of the gulf and 1 to 2 meters in the upper part, reaching more than 2 meters in areas where there are storms.
It is advised that sailors proceed with caution and avoid navigating in stormy areas.
For now, the accumulation of PM2.5 in northern Thailand will remain at low to moderate levels thanks to the prevailing winds in the region.
