An Indian tourist was left penniless after a woman he invited to his hotel room allegedly stole his money on Saturday night.
A 45-year-old Indian national identified as Sudip filed a robbery complaint at the Pattaya Police Station early on Sunday, June 29, following the incident at a hotel in Pattaya City's Bang Lamung district.
According to Mr. Sudip's statement, he met a Thai woman while walking on the beach on Saturday evening.
After agreeing, he invited her to his hotel room.
However, before any intimacy took place, he entered the bathroom and, upon emerging a few moments later, discovered that the woman had disappeared, taking his money with her.
The stolen items included 5,000 Thai baht (131 euros) and 30,000 Indian rupees (around 299 euros).
Police investigators retrieved CCTV footage from the hotel, which provided clear images of the woman.
Police are continuing their investigation to find the suspect, who remains at large at the time of writing.
This is not the first time that a foreign tourist has reported this type of mishap in Pattaya.
In November 2022, another Indian tourist complained to Pattaya police after also being robbed by a sex worker.
The police then threatened to arrest him for violating the prostitution law.

I quote the police: "In November 2022, another Indian tourist came to complain to the Pattaya police after also being robbed by a sex worker.
The police then threatened to arrest him for violating the prostitution law." End of quote.
As I understand it, Pattaya police prosecute the client who pays for sex, but no comment on criminal prosecution of the Thai prostitute who is 100% "outlaw", prostitution (i.e. offering paid sex) is officially prohibited and prosecuted in Thailand.
We know what happens in the daily reality of the red light districts of large cities, seaside resorts and other Thai tourist centers!!!
New proof (if any more were needed!) that the "farang" is automatically found guilty when there is a problem with a Thai person, and that the Pattaya police use blackmail, manipulation of the law and corruption full time...
Welcome to Thailand, my darling…
The Thai police are right... you gambled, you lost... plus he must have been really ugly!!!
