Thailand: foreign prostitutes earned 13,600 euros per month in Koh Phangan

The police arrested one of the Ugandan women in a house in Koh Phangan for prostitution on Sunday 1st March 2026

Two Ugandan women admitted receiving about 500,000 baht (13,607 euros) monthly by offering sexual services to Koh Phangan.

The famous island is known worldwide for its full moon parties, the Full Moon Party.

They were arrested after qu’un Israeli client complained d’avoir been robbed while qu’il was enjoying their charms.

The police stated that following this complaint, an undercover agent posing as a client had contacted the women via the WhatsApp messaging app.

He agreed to pay 5,000 bahts (136 euros) for a double service, said l’inspecteur de police touristique Lieutenant Colonel Winit Boonchit.

The suspects, identified as Janat N., 32, and Mariam N., 29, were apprehended on the evening of Sunday, March 1st, in an unnumbered house located in village 2 of Koh Phangan.

A foreign client was also present.

The women admitted having offered sexual services on l’île for more than two months and said that most of their clients were foreigners, said Lieutenant Colonel Winit.

They received about 180 men over the past two months, that is three or four per day, the suspects said.

Each d’entre elles earned up to 500,000 bahts per month, most of which were sent to their families in Uganda.

They were placed in detention at the Koh Phangan police station pending a judicial procedure.
