Thai Airways has ordered its flights to Europe to detour through the Middle East following Iran's attacks on Israel.
Thai Airways (THAI) Chairman Chai Eamsiri said on Sunday, April 14:
"The airline has slightly rerouted some flights to avoid Middle Eastern airspace, but overall service has not been affected."
THAI's chief commercial officer, Korakot Chatasingha, said travelers who had booked flights via the Middle East had not canceled their trips and the airline was monitoring the situation closely.
“Flights to Europe normally pass through Middle Eastern airspace.
"Today, Thai Airways International is using alternative routes outside Iranian skies and therefore there is no impact on the service," said Mr. Korakot.
Meanwhile, the Foreign Ministry has advised Thais against traveling to Iran and Israel.
The Thai embassy in Tel Aviv reported that numerous drones and missiles were launched from various directions at Israel, and that the latter was defending itself against the attacks.
There are about 28,000 Thais in Israel and another 300 in Iran.
The Thai embassies in Tel Aviv and Tehran are reaching out to Thai communities in those countries and have not reported any Thais affected by the conflict, the Foreign Ministry said.
