An international study reveals that Thailand has the highest rate of reported infidelity among married people.
The kingdom is often at the top of this shameful ranking.

A recent analysis of global infidelity rates revealed by World Population Review shows marked differences between countries.
Some of them show significantly higher proportions of married people admitting to having been unfaithful to their partner.
According to the data, more than one in two adults say they have already had an extramarital relationship, placing Thailand ahead of several European countries.
Denmark ranks second, closely followed by Germany and Italy.
France, Norway, and Belgium are among other countries where the proportion of respondents reporting infidelity is relatively high, with figures exceeding 40% in many cases.
Rates are gradually decreasing in other countries, particularly in Spain, Finland, the United Kingdom, and Canada, where they are all around 35%.
Experts stress that these statistics reflect behaviors reported by respondents and should be interpreted with caution, as definitions of infidelity can vary significantly across cultures and surveys.
Nevertheless, these figures highlight general trends in the dynamics of relationships within different societies.
If infidelity is one of many factors that can affect relationships and family stability, the data from the World Population Review provides a comparative overview of the frequency with which this behavior is recognized by married people around the world.

Infidelity: a practice that is nevertheless dangerous in Thailand

A woman cuts a banana.
In Thailand, infidelity not only jeopardizes the balance of a couple, in some extreme cases, it can also have dramatic physical consequences.
Over the years, several diverse facts have marked public opinion: deceived wives, pushed to the limit, have mutilated their husbands by cutting off their sex, sometimes during their sleep.
These cases, widely reported by the local press, have contributed to forging a reputation as crude as it is unexpected.
Faced with these situations, Thai surgeons have become, despite themselves, specialists in the reconstruction of male genitalia.
Some report having performed multiple reimplantation operations, with high success rates on a surgical level — even if full recovery of functions remains far from guaranteed.
But women have adapted: organs thrown into toilets, boiled, fed to ducks or attached to a helium balloon.
These facts remain rare, but they illustrate the emotional violence that betrayal within a couple can generate.
Moral of the story: in Thailand, infidelity can cost much more than a divorce.
Before taking unnecessary risks, it's better to remember that it's not just feelings that can be broken.

No wonder the woman who invented the guillotine for ... is Thai!!!
We who have shared our lives with one (or more for the more daring) Thai woman for sometimes over 15/20 years have been able to see that Thai women are among the most formidable in the world when it comes to throwing a jealous tantrum…
Hide the knives, scissors, pruning shears, hedge trimmer, and metal saw!!!
But even if you take all possible and imaginable precautions, she will crush your testicles between 2 coconuts.
And it's worse if you live in a village of a few thousand inhabitants where you don't know many people (apart from a few "friends" of your wife, whom she obviously chooses older and uglier than her), but where everyone knows you as "THE" village farang…
Let your hand wander around the waist of a street food vendor in the marketplace or discreetly give a chaste kiss on the neck and your partner will know about it before you even get home within the next 10 minutes…
Oh yes, I forgot: never buy a tart roller, obviously !!!
Fortunately, I have 2 friends (a Frenchman and a Belgian), one in Bangkok and the other in Phuket on whom I can count to host me for a few days 2 or 3 times a year when my loved one goes to celebrate the Chinese New Year or Loy Krathong with her group of friends…
And bang, well yes, I'm in the statistics…
Let's have fun, Giscard, Sarko, Mitterrand and even his legitimate Danielle Gouze… the princes, children of Elizabeth II, DSK… and many others have enjoyed themselves.
SO the Thais can also enjoy themselves.
