Unusual: After proving popular in Bangkok, Thai Airways began selling its fried doughnuts in Chiang Mai, attracting long queues of customers.
Thai Airways staff said today they were struggling to meet demand in Chiang Mai as customers queued early in the morning to try the popular snack from the airline's culinary arm.
The entire operation was moved from Bangkok to Chiang Mai to offer the fried doughnuts, with stoves and kitchen staff brought from the capital to Suthep Road, opposite the provincial public health office.
Starting at 6 a.m., the staff had three pans to fry the doughnuts in batches for five minutes.
The wait time was always no less than 20 minutes due to demand, as many people bought 3 to 5 bags, or even 10 bags, to distribute to their friends and family.
Sold for 40 baht a bag, three pairs of doughnuts accompanied by condensed milk sauce are included in each order.
Staff at the operation said they received up to 1,000 orders a day and asked buyers to arrive even earlier in the morning to avoid long waits.

I think Thai Airways should communicate more with customers who have still not been reimbursed after more than 6 months rather than with their own. They are very disappointed with the company.
