Eighteen people were killed and 32 others injured when a bus overturned in Prachin Buri, eastern Thailand, on Wednesday, February 26.
The bus was one of three carrying 129 people from Bueng Kan province in northeastern Thailand to Rayong,
The Prachin Buri Traffic Safety Center said the accident occurred around 3:20 a.m. near kilometer 210-500 of Route 304.
The driver lost control on a descent, the bus rolled down the slope and overturned.
According to reports, 17 people died at the scene and another was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Of the 32 injured, 19 were taken to Nadi Hospital and 13 to Kabin Buri Hospital.
The crashed bus was one of three carrying 129 people on a five-day study tour organized by the Phon Charoen municipality in Bueng Kan as part of the community waste bank development project.

Na Di district chief Somjai Phutthasena noted that road accidents often occurred while descending Khao San Pu Tone mountain, causing many injuries and deaths.
He expects the accident to be caused by a faulty braking system.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident.

The buses are poorly maintained or old, either the brakes are broken or they burn out.
The drivers are also to blame.
