Mystery deepens after British tourist disappears in Thailand
He made his last call on July 26 to his girlfriend, who lives in Boston where he usually resides, to tell her he was coming home, but since then his phone has been turned off.
His relatives took to social media to ask for help from the public.
Sam Champ, one of his friends, posted a message on the Thailand Travel Advice :
“Hello guys.
I need your help please!!!
A dear friend of mine has gone missing in Bangkok.
He has not been heard from since July 26.
He was supposed to take a flight that day and didn't show up.
Yesterday he celebrated his 27th birthday and everyone is very worried.
He was reported missing.
I have attached a picture of him, his name is Simon Robinson and he is from Lincolnshire.
If anyone could share this message with someone in Bangkok or Thailand, I would be very grateful."
His message was widely shared on social media.
Mr Robinson travelled to Thailand and changed his return flight to the UK. He was due to stay until August but cut his stay short to return on July 26.
However, he did not board the flight and has not been heard from since.
His relatives tried in vain to contact him.
A trace of his cell phone signal showed he was in Bangkok on July 26, but the signal disappeared or was cut off five minutes before he reached Suvarnabhumi Airport in Samut Prakan.
His relatives contacted the British Embassy in Bangkok about his disappearance.
With no progress, they turned to social media for help.
Sarah Robinson Dale, the younger sister of the missing man, also posted a message on her Facebook account asking for help from internet users.
She posted this missing person notice with a more recent photo of the missing person on her Facebook page:
