A 63-year-old Belgian national was seriously injured after falling naked from the seventh floor of a hotel in Pattaya, eastern Thailand.
The fall occurred on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at a hotel located in Buakhao alley, one of the most well-known nightlife areas of the famous beach resort.
Accidents of this kind are frequent in the country, particularly in Pattaya.

The injured man was later identified as Johan Rene B. Renier, a 63-year-old Belgian national.
He was found naked in front of the hotel.
The officers from the Pattaya Police Station, as well as the rescuers from the Sawang Borriboon Dhammastan Rescue Foundation, were informed of the incident around 2:30 am.
The circumstances of the fall still unclear

Rescuers at the scene of the accident where you can see the broken awning and the railing that cushioned the fall of the Belgian national on January 13, 2026.
According to the police, Mr. Renier was staying in room 705, on the seventh floor.
The initial evidence indicates that Mr. Renier fell from his room and hit an awning before hitting the railing along a wheelchair access path in front of the hotel, which reduced the impact of the fall.
Rescuers indicated that there were no signs of struggle or physical assault visible on his body.
However, the police have not yet determined whether it was an accident, an attempted suicide, or a criminal act.
A witness, Ittiphon Sichai, 24, told police that he was sitting nearby when he heard a loud noise coming from the hotel.
He rushed to see what was happening and found the injured man calling for help.
Ittiphon then contacted the police and rescue services.
An investigation is underway

Hotel railing bent after a Belgian tourist fell from the 7th floor.
The officers then searched Renier's hotel room and found medication, including a bottle of pills, a spray and packaged medication.
The police believe that these medications could be used to treat allergies, without establishing a direct link with the fall.
Investigators plan to examine footage from the hotel's CCTV cameras and the surrounding area to determine the cause of the fall.
The victim is still hospitalized in a local facility; their condition is unknown.

He was very lucky to still be alive after his fall, given the state of the awning and the sidewalk railing !!!
Let's hope that his injuries are not fatal and that he will be able to recover… but without more details on the severity of his condition, it's difficult to say !!!
