The attack follows the expulsion of one of the Chinese from a bar in the south of Pattaya after a heated altercation with a woman on Sunday night.
A Chinese man was arrested, the others involved are still on the run, said Colonel Anek Sathongyu, police commissioner of Pattaya city, on Monday.
He did not specify how many people made up the gang.
The incident occurred around 11:36 pm at Garden 168, on South Pattaya Road, in the Bang Lamung district.
Three guards stabbed, one in critical condition
Rescuers from the Sawang Boriboonthammasatan organization called to the scene reported that three security agents had been injured by a sharp object.
One of them was stabbed in the chest and was in critical condition.
Another was injured in the right arm and the third in the right leg.
They received initial treatment before being taken to hospital.
According to the bar manager, a Chinese customer had violently argued with a woman inside the establishment.
Security agents intervened to ask him to leave, fearing the situation would escalate and disturb other customers.
Shortly after, the Chinese man returned with companions and used a knife to attack the security agents, the manager said.

All city police units were alerted to search for the others, said Colonel Anek.
Pattaya police then arrested the main suspect in a boxing training camp.
He was identified as Chao Chen, 36, and admitted to the facts.

The year 2026 is off to a great start for the Chinese in Pattaya !!!
If it's a "gang" as the article says, should we understand that they're delinquents on "vacation" in Thailand or mafia nationals, or simply aggressive Chinese citizens who are too drunk and came to avenge a fellow countryman who was violent and got kicked out of a bar, following his attitude towards a woman we know nothing about... Chinese? Thai? Working for the bar?
In any case, they didn't hesitate to attack 3 security agents on site, injuring them with knives and one of them seriously enough to assume that the Chinese perpetrator(s) of the knife stabs could have simply killed him!!!
It is to be hoped that this group will be quickly intercepted, because it is clear that they will try in the next few hours to leave Thailand or try to hide in hiding if they have contacts with the Chinese community in Bangkok…
It starts well!!!
