The police arrested a Danish tourist and a Thai woman for indecent acts on Jomtien Beach in Pattaya, eastern Thailand.
This is not the first scandal of this kind in the sulfurous resort town of Pattaya, this type of story happens frequently.

A public sex act reported by a shocked witness

The incident occurred on Saturday, December 20, 2025, in the evening at Nong Prue in the Bang Lamung district, where witnesses reported seeing the couple engaging in sexual activities on a floating pontoon offshore.
It was reported to the Pattaya police station by a 27-year-old Thai identified as Bas.
He noticed this indecent act around 10 pm while collecting seashells on the beach.
Bas told the police that he was walking along the shore, while many people were relaxing nearby and enjoying the night atmosphere of Jomtien beach.
He then spotted a naked foreign man having sex with a woman on a floating pier.
The woman involved allegedly made loud noises, which drew the attention of other people in the area.
According to Bas, he was not the only one to have witnessed this act.
Several other swimmers also noticed what was happening, and some were seen filming the couple with their mobile phone.
A quick response from Pattaya police

Siam Chon News reported that police officers arrived on the scene after receiving the complaint.
The officers used lights and verbal warnings to signal the couple to stop their explicit behavior.
The foreign man was later identified as a Danish national, while the woman involved was confirmed to be Thai.

During her interrogation, the Thai woman told the police that this behavior was not normal for her.
She explained that her actions had been influenced by intoxication and a lack of judgment at the time.
She specified that they were initially swimming together in the sea before the situation unexpectedly escalated.
The woman also stated that she was not originally from Pattaya, she had recently left the northeastern region of Thailand, near Cambodia due to theescalation of clashes at the border.
No prosecution but a formal warning

The couple was then escorted to the station for further questioning.
According to Siam Chon News, the officers decided not to prosecute the two parties.
The police instead gave them an official warning and asked them not to repeat this type of behavior in public places.
Under Thai criminal law, obscene or indecent acts in public can result in a maximum fine of 5,000 baht, or even a prison sentence of up to one month.
The officers just reminded the couple that engaging in indecent acts in public places could cause distress to others and harm the image of tourist destinations.

Ah, what a big deal!
At night, offshore on a raft, you really have to have onlookers (as Raimu used to say), camera in hand, go looking for the scoop to give meaning to their life between two « legal forays » in the chaste city of Pattaya.
Yes, there are laws for this kind of generous public exhibition, and that's great!
Then, not very far from this couple, who are a bit too demonstrative both in sound and image, there are also disgusting things happening but, as it's out of sight, it reassures and gives a clear conscience to (almost) everyone.
