l’Thai Civil Aviation Authority (CAAT) recommends passengers to plan their trips well in advance.

Passengers wishing to travel between l’Asia and l’Europe are invited to book sufficiently early in order to benefit from reasonable fares, as the conflict in the Middle East has caused a strong demand for a limited number of direct flights, according to l’agency.

According to travel trend observations, flight disruptions should ease and the exorbitant ticket prices to drop from the end of March, said the CAAT.

Flights between l’Asia and l’Europe heavily disrupted

For now, however, most airlines based in the Middle East are unable to resume their normal operations, except for some flights departing from Oman.

International flight networks have been affected, especially routes that depend on the Middle East for connecting flights.

As a result, some passengers have turned to direct flights between l’Asia and l’Europe, the CAAT said.

Strong demand for direct flights between Europe and Asia

This has led to a sharp increase in seat demand on these routes, leaving only higher‑priced tickets available for short‑term purchases.

It is advisable to plan your trips well in advance, and passengers with flexible schedules can consider alternative routes via countries that still operate connecting flights.

Thailand monitors the impact of the conflict on air transport

CAAT closely monitors l’evolution of airline fuel costs linked to the situation in the Middle East and coordinates with airlines l’assessment of potential impacts on fares.

Appropriate measures to maintain balanced fare levels and reduce the burden on passengers are under discussion, and no blocked passenger has been reported at Thai airports, the agency said.
