The moon will be only 356,966 kilometers from Earth, appearing larger and brighter than usual.
This astronomical phenomenon is due to the elliptical orbit of the Moon, which reaches its closest point, or perigee, at an average distance of 357,000 kilometers from Earth.
Participants in Loy Krathong will be able to enjoy this visual spectacle when the moon rises around 5:30 PM and remains visible throughout the night.
To facilitate observation, NARIT will make telescopes available free of charge at five sites across the country:
Sirindhorn Astronomical Park in Chiang Mai and observatories in Chachoengsao, Khon Kaen, Nakhon Ratchasima, and Songkhla.
These events are scheduled from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, providing an excellent opportunity for enthusiasts to observe the super moon.
As the super full moon enhances the Loy Krathong festival, experts and enthusiasts eagerly await this conjunction of cultural and natural spectacle.
