Tourism Authority of Thailand highlights Ayutthaya after Lalisa's visit

The visit of the famous singer Lalisa Manoban to Ayutthaya will allow the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) to promote the historical park.

Today, a visit from a celebrity with millions of fans has more impact than an expensive advertising campaign, so why not take advantage of it.

On Monday, June 5, Lalisa Manoban, nicknamed Lisa, the Thai singer of the South Korean group Blackpink, posted photos of her visit to the ancient city of the World Heritage Site on her Instagram account.

The starlet's Instagram account ( @lalalalisa_m ) has 94.5 million followers.

She visited several ruins and temples in Ayutthaya after the Blackpink World Tour concerts in Bangkok on the last weekend of May.

During his trip with close friends, they wore traditional clothing, short-sleeved shirts and a long cloth wrapped around the waist as a skirt.

Her photos will inspire her fans to visit the same places and wear traditional clothes, said Thapanee Kiatpaiboon, TAT deputy governor for international marketing.

Ms. Thapanee, who will become TAT governor in September, said Lisa's Instagram post is a form of soft power to promote Thai tourism, culture and products.

She said TAT had already launched a campaign to allow Lisa's fans to learn more about the places she visited, including Wat Na Phra Meru, Wat Mahathat, Wat Mae Nang Pluem and the Michelin-listed Kaow Laor restaurant.

“Lisa is a very prominent online influencer.

Her article on Ayutthaya travel will have a positive impact on the tourism industry and help boost the economy of local businesses,” she said.

Ms. Thapanee cited the example of indigo-dyed fabric.

She explained that the fabric was a well-known product from Udon Thani and had sold like hotcakes after Lisa's posts.

The Sustainable Arts and Crafts Institute of Thailand (SACIT) similarly congratulated Lisa on her promotion, which it considers a form of "soft power."
