Dramatic aerial footage shows water rushing through a 30-meter breach cutting a highway in northeast Thailand in two.
The highway is the one that connects Rasi Sali district in Srisaket province to Phon Sai district in Roi Et province.
Flooding has transformed the surrounding farmland into what looks like a reservoir after several days of heavy rain.
As the water level rose, pressure built up and eventually caused the road to burst at 11 a.m. on September 25.
Travel between the two districts has become impossible.
Farmers are trying to deliver grass to cows believed to be stuck on "islands" in the colossal flood.
A villager who was trying to help the cows was swept away by the strong current but was rescued by villagers and officers from the Rasi police station.
Srisaket Irrigation Project Director Chamras Suanchan said corrective measures were underway to repair the broken road.
Weather conditions are only expected to worsen in northeast Thailand this week.
Super Typhoon Noru, which left six people dead and caused extensive damage in the Philippines, is on its way to Thailand, where it is expected to arrive on Wednesday or Thursday.
