The Thai Meteorological Department warned that summer storms will hit 48 provinces across Thailand, including Bangkok.
The 24-hour forecast from the Thai meteorological department for this Friday, March 13, indicates that the north, central, and east regions, as well as Bangkok and its surroundings, will continue to experience summer thunderstorms in certain areas.
These conditions are due to a barometric trough originating from Burma that continues’ to influence the north of the country.
At the same time, a moderate high‑pressure system, or cold air mass, coming from China has moved towards the northeast, east, the eastern part of the central region and the South China Sea.
Advice to residents
Residents of the affected areas are advised to beware of the dangers associated with summer thunderstorms by avoiding open spaces, large trees, buildings, and unstable advertising signs.
Farmers must strengthen fruit trees and prepare to prevent d’possible damage to crops and livestock.
The south should experience thunderstorms and isolated showers under ’effect of winds of ’east and northeast blowing over the Gulf of Thailand and the sea of ’Andaman.
The winds and swell will remain moderate in the lower part of the gulf, with waves of 1 to 2 meters that can exceed 2 meters during storms.
Sailors in the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea must avoid navigating in areas affected by storms.
Air quality and PM2.5
