Woman comes back to life at funeral in Thailand

A 49-year-old woman woke up as her family prepared for her funeral at a temple in Udon Thani, northeast Thailand.

On Thursday, June 29, Weeraphon Rak Samerwong, administrator of the Ban Dung Update page, was informed that Chataphon, a resident of Ban Dung district, had been transported home after succumbing to a serious illness.

Chataphon was very ill and her doctor had informed Mali, her mother, that her daughter's chances of survival were slim, so they decided to take her home.

However, halfway through the journey to Ban Dung, Chataphon died.

Mali, his mother, quickly alerted the relatives who were waiting for them at the temple to begin the funeral procession.

But when the vehicle carrying the deceased's body entered Sri Phadung Temple, Chataphon came back to life, causing a surprised reaction among the people in the van.

When she realized her daughter had regained consciousness, Mali rushed her to Somdet Phra Yuparaj Hospital in Ban Dung.

She happily informed everyone of their good fortune, announcing Chataphon's miraculous survival.

Family members preparing for the funeral at the temple were stunned by the news.

The journey between Nong Han district and Ban Dung is approximately 40 kilometers and would have taken at least an hour.

The family speculated that Chataphon may not have wanted to die yet because she was waiting for her daughter, who was traveling from Bangkok to attend the funeral.

Currently, Chataphon is under medical supervision at Ban Dung Hospital, with her daughter by her side, still fighting for her life.

In January 2020, members of a Thai family, who were celebrating a funeral, were shocked to see the person they thought was dead come to attend his own funeral.

In fact, the person in the coffin was not who they thought.
