On May 4, Rama X was officially crowned King of Thailand during the coronation ceremonies.
Queen Suthida was subsequently declared Her Majesty the Queen.

Rama X concluded the ceremony after receiving the royal insignia that symbolize the royalty of a monarch who has completed the coronation rite.
Previously, the king participated in a purification rite, the “Muratha Bhisek”, which refers to the act of pouring holy water on the king's head.
This holy water is a mixture of water from the 76 provinces of the country.
At the end of the process, His Majesty appointed Queen Suthida, Her Majesty the Queen.
Queen Suthida was named the new queen on May 1st after His Majesty announced their marriage.

The king stated that he would follow in the footsteps of his father, King Bhumibol in deciding his life for the happiness and well-being of the people.
He vowed to:
continue, preserve, develop, and reign with justice for the benefit and happiness of his people.
The coronation ceremony took place at the Grand Palace.

Rama X and Rama IX
The coronation of Rama X took place 69 years after that of King Bhumibol Adulyadej on May 5, 1950.
Soldiers fired salutes to pay homage to Their Majesties during the morning session.
Many people had gathered in the areas around the Grand Palace in the morning to attend the historic event.
