Thailand is the country of pétanque, the Marseille game of boules is played in all towns and villages and is even taught in schools.

Pétanque is called pétonque in Thai.
Playing pétanque = len pétonque

A sport imported to Thailand by the Queen Mother

It was the Queen Mother who discovered and fell in love with this sport in Switzerland in the 1970s.

The Queen Mother then introduced her relatives to the game upon her return to Thailand, and the passion for the game spread throughout the country.

Today, it is the second most popular sport in Thailand, it is even supported by the government and is taught in schools.

In France, it is mainly men and older people who play it, mainly in the south of the country, but in Thailand the sport is practiced everywhere, at all ages, and women also like to play it!
