Toilet teeth
If you are one of those people who, after seeing the film "Jaws" (those over 50), felt a certain apprehension about finding yourself alone in the ocean, it might be better not to read these two stories.
You might have a hard time finding yourself alone in a toilet in Thailand!
3-meter python grabs his penis while he's on the toilet

Attaporn Boonmakchuay, the Thai man attacked by a python while he was on the toilet.
Article published on May 27, 2016.
Attaporn Boonmakchuay is one of those people who will never go to the toilet with peace of mind again.
This 38-year-old Thai man was bitten by a python while he was sitting quietly relieving himself!
The snake grabbed his penis with its jaws and he had a lot of trouble getting rid of it.
Then he had to be taken to the hospital as he was losing a lot of blood and needed stitches.
Attaporn says:
“I struggled and called my wife who went to get the neighbor.
And suddenly, as I held it, the snake began to squeeze less tightly.
With my hand, I moved his mouth apart and he finally let go."
After freeing his penis from the snake's jaws and bleeding heavily, Attaporn managed to free himself completely from the snake by hanging its head on the toilet door handle.
Doctors at Chachoengsao Hospital near Bangkok say he was lucky the bite didn't hit his urinary tract, as it could have been more serious otherwise, and he will have no after-effects other than scarring.
Rescuers had to break open the toilet to get the snake stuck in the pipes out.

Woman attacked by python in bathroom

The python, after a hard fight.
Article published on January 14, 2020
A Thai woman tells how her mother had to fight a snake for her life in the toilet.
“We all think it's something that will never happen to us, I thought that was the case too until it happened in my own home.
How does a snake of this size get into the toilet?
Let me tell you what happened to Anna, my mother.
She went to the bathroom as usual.
Our house is a village, not in the forest or in the middle of nowhere.
The snake bit my mother while she was sitting on the toilet.
It seems that neither party gave up until both were bleeding and had to go to the hospital (the snake is certainly dead, see photo above).
The incident was shared by the victim's daughter on Facebook.
The girl posted the photos to prove that it was not a "horror movie plot."
“My mother grabbed his head and tried to tear it off his body.
The snake wouldn't let go.
He started wrapping himself around my mother, getting tighter and tighter.
“My mother tried to grab the head, but it wouldn't let go and the wound started to get bigger.
It was as if she had been stabbed.
She called my brother, who got scared of the snake and just handed my mother a box cutter.
My mother used the box cutter on the snake, but the skin was so rough that she accidentally cut herself about 3 centimeters deep.
My mother almost lost the cutter as the snake continued to coil around her.
That's when my mother thought of my grandmother."
“I don't know how, but my mother finally got the snake to stop biting her.
She pushed her head to the ground and screamed for my brother to give her a hammer.
After a few strokes, the snake finally stopped squeezing.
My brother took it out of the toilet and locked the snake inside.
A local team of volunteers came to retrieve the snake.
The father then took his wife to the hospital and she received stitches from the snake bite and self-inflicted wounds from the box cutter.
“My mother is so brave, I would have fainted in the toilet.
I learned to always inspect the toilet before using it even if it seems impossible that a snake is in there."

No need to panic!

A nearly three-meter-long python was found in a toilet in Nonthaburi, central Thailand, in June 2023.
Although this could very well happen to you during your trip to Thailand, it is extremely rare and unless you have a macerator in your toilet, or install a grate in the pipes, it is difficult to prevent!
Always keep an eye on the area and be prepared to defend yourself if there is any suspicious movement or noise.
In the second article, the girl says:
"I learned to always inspect the toilet before using it even if it seems impossible that a snake is in there."
The problem is that since the snake is usually hidden in the pipes, it is impossible to see it beforehand.
The man whose penis was bitten by a python, like this woman, saw nothing unusual until the snake emerged from inside the toilet to attack them!
