Tintin in Thailand is a parody of the famous Hergé comic book published in 1999, it tells the story of the wild adventure of well-known characters.
In this very special issue, the main characters like Captain Haddock, Professor Calculus, and Thomson and Thompson, find themselves in the land of smiles and discover the go-go bars of Bangkok and Chiang Mai
The author's name is Baudouin de Duve and he signed his comic strip under the pseudonym: Bud E. Weyser in reference to the famous Budweiser beer, which immediately sets the tone for this offbeat parody made primarily for fun.

Tintin in Thailand victim of piracy
This album was initially intended for the author's friends, it was printed in a few hundred copies and distributed only in the region of Chiang Mai.
But later the album was pirated (which is very common in Thailand!) and the pirates even adapted it into English.
Tintin in Thailand targets Hergé's rights holders
If we find all the sympathetic characters from the comic strip like Castafiore, Seraphin Lampion, General Alcazar and even the famous Chang (actually a lookalike in a gay bar!), we can see that none of the usual villains are present.
In this album, the bad roles have been given to members of the Hergé Foundation who, after being informed of the arrival of Tintin and his friends in Thailand, worry about what they might do there and the image it would give.
When reality surpasses fiction
In reality, the Hergé Foundation contacted the Belgian police after hearing about the album.
Subsequently, a police officer posed as a buyer and then arrests took place in the city of Tournai.
They then arrested the author in Antwerp.
Ultimately, three men were arrested, but they were all released later because the prosecutor's office considered it to be a parody of the famous comic and not a fake.
Tintin in Thailand, a soft comic strip
If we can see Nestor having fun with Seraphin Lampion's wife, Milou having fun with the Siamese cat, and the other characters having a good time in the go-go bars and massage parlors, it's not a comic for adults, there are no shocking drawings.
It's a funny comic primarily intended for adults, but it will also amuse teenagers.

Hello from Switzerland. I have an original copy signed and dedicated by Baudoin de Duve whom I met several times some 14-15 years ago in Chiang Mai where he resides.
Hi PounPoui (the chubby one in Thai!)
I put the comic book to download here because it can be found all over the net, but actually I don't know what the author thinks about it, it's just that a comic book is more enjoyable to read on paper!
Good grief, it's enough to kill me, the text on the second cover is just wow.
