Visit the Royal Crematorium in Bangkok in Virtual Reality

People who cannot come to Bangkok or who live far away can now visit the royal crematorium in virtual reality.

The Royal Crematorium is a true work of art created for the cremation of HM Bhumibol Adulyadej, Rama IX.

More than 2.6 million people have visited the Royal Crematorium at Sanam Luang in the last 35 days, but there are still many who do not have the opportunity to visit the crematorium to appreciate the architectural and sculptural wonders.

Therefore, HRH Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana ordered the creation of a virtual Royal Crematorium using computer technology.

How does the virtual reality tour of the Royal Crematorium work?

Viewers simply log on to the website and can view the magnificent structures, including the first, second and third floors of the Royal Crematorium , from all directions in 360 degrees.

They can also zoom in and out of images to get clearer details of structures.

The footage will be accompanied by the soundtrack of the song, Blue Day, composed by the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej and performed by Mr. Sakda Songcharoen.

The virtual royal crematorium was created by alumni and lecturers from Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok University International College, and Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi, under the supervision of Mr. Worapote Songcharoen.

As for those who want to see the real Royal Crematorium , they can still do so until December 31.

Each tour will take approximately one hour and visitors will receive a postcard as a souvenir.
